There will be a few steps to sideloading RemoteSpark on PC. To proceed, you will need to receive the RemoteSpark build from our Kognitiv Spark team. Once you have the build file, please follow these steps:

Prerequisite | Enabling Developer Mode

Your device must have developer mode enabled to sideload RemoteSpark. You can enable the setting by navigating to Windows Settings > System > For developers > Developer Mode.

Notes: 

• Developer Mode can be disabled after the installation is complete. It only needs to be turned on for the duration of the RemoteSpark installation.

• Your organization may manage your Developer Mode settings. If so, you may need to reach out to your team to enable this setting.

Prerequisite | Execution Policy

You may need to set an execution policy value to RemoteSigned during the sideload process. To set this value, please run the following commands:

1. Check your execution policy first by running:

   Get-ExecutionPolicy

2. To set the execution policy do the following command, and confirm your selection by pressing [A]:

   Set-ExecutionPolicy remotesigned

3. To verify the changes, re-run the command from Step 1. 

Notes: 

• Please ensure that changing the execution policy is allowed in your group settings before proceeding.
• If you change your execution policy during the installation it is recommended that you change it back to its previous setting after the installation using the command:

  Set-ExecutionPolicy restricted 

Option 1 | Sideload using PowerShell Script

1. Unzip the RemoteSpark build package.
   
   
2. Right click on the Install file and select Run with PowerShell.
   
   
3. When the PowerShell window opens, press [R] to proceed with the installation.
   
   
   
   
4. Once the installation is complete, you can verify by searching RemoteSpark for PC on Windows search.
   
   
   

Option 2 | Sideload using Windows App Installer

Note: You may experience issues installing from the bundle file. If so, please take a look at the troubleshooting steps below.

1. Unzip the RemoteSpark build package.
2. Right click on the RemoteSpark MSIXBUNDLE file and select Install.
   
   
   
3. Select Install when the RemoteSpark Windows App window appears.
   
   
   
4. Once the installation is complete, you can verify by searching RemoteSpark for PC on Windows search.
   

Sideload Troubleshooting

If you have any issues sideloading RemoteSpark, you can try the following actions to resolve:

1. Import the Security Certificate
   1. Right click the certificate (.cer file) and select Install Certificate to launch the Certificate Import Wizard.
      
      
      
      
      
   2. Install the certificate in Local Machine then click Next.
      
      
      
      
   3. You will need to either accept a confirmation or have an administrator from your organization login and accept the permissions to proceed.
       
      
   4. In the next window, select Place all certificates in the following store then click Browse.
      
      
      
      
      
   5. A Select Certificate Store window will appear on-screen.
      
      
   6. Select the 'Trusted People' option – click OK.
      
      
2. Install Dependencies
   1. In the unzipped RemoteSpark build folder, navigate to /Dependencies/x64.
      
      
      
      
      
   2. For all three files, right click then select Install.
